Pleora’s iPORT™ NTx-GigE Embedded Video Interface hardware helps manufacturers shorten time-to-market, reduce risk, and lower costs by providing a straightforward way to integrate GigE Vision 2.0 video connectivity into cameras, x-ray detector panels, and imaging systems.

The NTx-GigE Embedded Video Interface interacts seamlessly with Pleora’s other products in networked or point-to-point digital video systems. It complies with the GigE Vision 2.0® and GenICam™ standards, ensuring interoperability in a multi-vendor environment.

For manufacturers requiring deeper levels of integration, Pleora’s NTx-GigE is also available as an Intellectual Property (IP) package that includes an FPGA IP core and a hardware reference design, complete with expert design review services.

The ultra-compact NTx-GigE is easily embedded into small-body cameras, flat-panel x-ray detectors, and imaging systems. Power over Ethernet (PoE) and external power options provide design flexibility, while lowering component and operating costs. The product supports the IEEE 1588 Precision Time Protocol to synchronize image capture functions and other system elements, enabling the exact triggering of image acquisition.

Pleora’s iPORT NTx-GigE Embedded Video Interface is supported by:

Product Overview

Pleora’s iPORT™ NTx-W Embedded Video Interface provides systems manufacturers and integrators with a straightforward way to integrate GigE Vision® 2.0 wireless video connectivity into cameras, X-ray panels, and other imaging devices for applications where cabling creates complexity, cost, and usability challenges.

The iPORT NTx-W Embedded Video Interface streams uncompressed video with low, consistent latency at sustained throughputs up to 150 Mb/s over an IEEE 802.11n wireless link. Video is transferred directly to a laptop, tablet, or single-board computer, eliminating the need for a desktop PC with an expensive frame grabber card.

To ensure reliable wireless performance, Pleora’s iPORT NTx-W combines the guaranteed video delivery mechanisms incorporated in the GigE Vision standard with flow control that adapts video transport to link speed. The embedded hardware supports 3x3 MIMO (multiple input/multiple output) and dual band for improved range and noise immunity, standard encryption modes for security, and access point and client modes for flexible networking configurations.

The ultra-compact video interface hardware is easily integrated with core sensor electronics and is fully compliant with Version 2.0 of the GigE Vision® standard, simplifying its use in multi-vendor environments. To speed development time and reduce costs, designers can choose from a selection of antennae pre-certified for use in over 80 countries.

The iPORT NTx-W is supported by Pleora’s feature-rich eBUS™ SDK application tool kit and drivers, which allows designers to rapidly prototype and deploy production-ready software. Using the NTx-Ten, manufacturers can shorten time-to-market, reduce development and deployment risk, and lower design and system costs.

The NTx-Ten interacts seamlessly with Pleora's other products in networked or point-to-point digital video systems. The hardware also complies fully with the GigE Vision® 2.0 and GenICam™ standards, ensuring interoperability with third-party equipment in multi-vendor environments.

A sophisticated on-board Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) and support for the IEEE 1588 Precision Time Protocol allows users to precisely measure, synchronize, and control the operation of other system elements.

GigE Vision and GenICam are both agnostic to Ethernet link speed, which means the NTx-Ten can be combined into systems alongside GigE Vision cameras operating at 1 Gb/s, with no software modifications.

The NTx-Ten converts video data to Ethernet packets and sends it with low, consistent latency over a 10 GigE link to receiving software or hardware. Pleora’s iPORT™ CL-GigE External Frame Grabbers allow manufacturers and integrators to treat Camera Link® Base configuration cameras as native GigE Vision® cameras in vision systems operating in -40°C to +60°C environments.

With these external frame grabbers, designed specifically for highly reliable video transmission in challenging operating conditions, Camera Link cameras can enjoy the long-distance cabling reach, computing platform support, and networking advantages of Gigabit Ethernet (GigE).

The iPORT CL-GigE converts video data from Camera Link cameras to packets and transmits it over a GigE link with low, predictable latency. GigE supports cabling distances of up to 100 meters using standard CAT5e/6 cabling. With off-the-shelf Ethernet switches, distances can be unlimited. Integrated Power over Ethernet (PoE) and Power over Camera Link (PoCL) capabilities enable one-cable installations to further simplify design and reduce component count.

The connection at the computing platform is a standard GigE plug, eliminating the need for a desktop PC with an available peripheral card slot. With these external frame grabbers, Sony block cameras can leverage the simple, long-distance cabling of Gigabit Ethernet (GigE) for both video and control signals. The cameras can also be used with a broader selection of computing platforms, lowering system costs.

The SB-GigE presents a user friendly interface to the Sony® VISCA™ protocol set, both graphically and in the eBUS SDK (software development kit) . This allows system designers to rapidly prototype interactions between the SB-GigE, the Sony block camera, and their software as well as quickly deploy production-ready software.

The SB-GigE transmits full-resolution video with low, predictable latency over a GigE link. The connection at the PC is a standard GigE plug, eliminating the need for a desktop PC with an available peripheral card slot for a traditional frame grabber.

As a result, system designers can reduce system size, cost, and power consumption by using computing platforms with smaller form factors, such as laptops, embedded PCs, and single board computers.

GigE supports cabling distances of up to 100 meters using standard CAT5e/6 cabling. Pleora’s iPORT™ PT1000-CL External Frame Grabbers allow system manufacturers and integrators to treat Camera Link® cameras as native GigE Vision® cameras. With these external frame grabbers, Camera Link cameras enjoy the long-distance reach of Gigabit Ethernet (GigE) and can be mixed with native GigE Vision cameras in networked environments.

The PT1000-CL External Frame Grabbers interact seamlessly with Pleora's other products in networked or point-to-point digital video systems. vDisplay HDI-Pro External Frame Grabbers interact seamlessly with Pleora's other products in networked digital video systems. Transcoder Gateway

Compress and transmit GigE Vision® or USB3 Vision™ video to playback devices

Pleora Technologies Transcoder Gateway cuts the complexity and cost of multi-screen imaging systems by transmitting GigE Vision and USB3 Vision video to any playback device, including tablets and smartphones.

The appliance automatically converts video from up to four GigE Vision or USB3 Vision cameras into the widely used H.264 compression format. The video is then transmitted over a wired or wireless connection using RTSP (Real Time Streaming Protocol) to a playback device, including embedded PCs, tablets, and smartphones. The gateway can also output HDMI video to high-definition displays.

Military Imaging 
In a military vetronics application, the driver and occupants rely on uncompressed, low-latency GigE Vision video from on-vehicle cameras for navigation and surveillance. GigE Vision video can be multicast to display panels, processing equipment, and the transcoder gateway. The plug-in Transcoder Gateway appliance simply converts these image feeds into a compressed video stream that can be wirelessly transmitted to a command center, other vehicles, or battlefield troops who can view the video on low power, portable tablets.

Medical Imaging 
For medical imaging applications in the operating room, uncompressed low-latency GigE vision-compliant video used by a surgeon can be compressed into a common format that consulting physicians and nursing staffing can access on tablets or other portable devices.

Transportation (ITS)

Customized FPGA Load
