PCCD Series are pericentric lenses exclusively developed and produced to enable the 360° side view imaging of small objects.
Their innovative optical design, based on a catadioptric system, makes it possible to image small objects, with diameters as small as 7 mm.
The sides of the object are imaged through the catadioptric system, while the top surface is directly imaged onto the center of the detector.

All internal glass elements of this series are glued. A two way reversible nut is utilized to tightly lock the focus adjustment ring in place. Kowa has added a new 4/3 inch telecentric macro zoom to its product line. The LM1119TC is telecentric from 0.5× – 1.0× magnification and able to resolve up to 21 megapixel.

Besides that, Kowa introduces a new 2/3 inch telecentric 5 megapixel plus series. The series includes three lenses with adjustable magnification. The ranges of magnification are 1.725× – 2.2× (LM1121TC), 1.15× – 1.47× (LM1122TC) and 0.69× – 0.88× (LM1123TC).

All new telecentric lenses have very low distortion. They produce high contrast and resolution in both center and corners.
In a telecentric optical system, there is no change in magnification when focusing, and magnification is constant over working distances. Thus movement of an object does not change magnification. Therefore, it is suitable for measuring objects with high accuracy.

Resolution of this new XC-series is 160lp/mm in the center and thus matches perfectly for example with the sensor KAI-08050 from Truesense Imaging or CMOSIS MV4000. The new XC-series includes 5 different models with focal length between 12mm up to 50mm. Just as other machine vision lenses from Kowa this new series is constructed to withstand high requirements on vibration, shock and temperature. Hole inspection optics have been developed to enable the perfect viewing of holed objects, cavities and containers.
Unlike common optics or so called "pinhole lenses" which can only image flat fields of view, Hole Inspection Optics are specifically designed to image both the bottom of a hole and its vertical walls.
Thanks to the large view angle (>82° degree) and innovative optical design, these lenses are compatible with a wide range of object diameters and thicknesses.
